I went to the preview and the double feature and STILL people were like this. If I was the godess of cinemas I would make these people work like Sisyphus. Or at least separate them from real fans.Quelle: abrahamsdaughter-raisedherbow
I just couldn’t decide whether it was better with the extra layer or not.

You know, Peeta’s unconventional masculinity is as relevant for traditional gender subversion in The Hunger Games as Katniss’s unconventional femininity.
It’s a bit annoying to see everyone and their mother praising Katniss for being such a unique action female hero, and…
Finally someone who put into words what I couldn’t explain, because I get too angry about the hipocracy if I think about it for too long. THANK YOU.Quelle: theelliedoll
- peeta was abused by his mother
- his entire family died in the bombing
- he was hijacked and made to hate the one person he had left that he loved
- he overcame all this bullshit and lived the rest of his life with katniss and their two children
yet people still say “peeta is weak”
AMEN. I am so sick of people hating on Peeta.

These are some of the most beautiful edits I have ever seen on tumblr. The colors are flawless. Bright but not too intense. This is how I want to edit someday. Do you make tutorials as well?Quelle: onepleiad
So I went to the CF early preview yeasterday, and while the start of the movie was a little bumpy, It was AWESOME. A lot of nice scenes from the book were left out but the movie is already 2 1/2 hours long so I guess I can understand… but then again you could always go to LotR length. People would still go to the movies, I’m sure of it. Or they could have just made two movies like with the last book. Rereading Catching Fire, I realized that there is so much plot and EVERY scene is important. Also CF is my fave book in the series so yeah. The music wasn’t loud enough for my taste but it was still a really good score.
Anyway, back to the scenes. While the left out a lot of my cherished scenes, there are some that I was surprised to see such as Peeta and Katniss falling into the snow and the elevator scene which was hilarious. My fave scene in the movie right now.
And can i just say: JOHANNA FREAKIN MASON. Wow. I didn’t expect her character to be this awesome in the movie.
I feel like the screenwriters made Katniss a little to girly. And is there really that much kissing in the book? Or maybe she just looks like a total girl next to Johanna. And her changing relationship with Gale was kind of rushed through. Well, generally the district 12 scenes were rushed.
Comparison of HG and CF:
HG was a lot about morals and I loved that. I feel it went missing a bit in CF. Or rather CF didn’t touch me as much. Maybe they screwed with the way an arc of tension should be in the first part of the movie. I didn’t cry once and that frightens me because the plot in CF is much more cruel. The only time I nearly cried was when Katniss realized she had to go back into the arena (when watching Snow’s speech, not the running into the woods part).
On the other hand the jokes in CF were more and also better. I loved it. Maybe I didn’t cry because everyone in the room was so happy to finally see the movie that the whole mood was way to cheery to cry. Still, the fact that I didn’t is still puzzling me. Maybe I was too emotionally stable that day :D
OK I have to talk more about the elevator scene. Katniss’ face was priceless. Jen is just the best when it comes to comedy. I loved how Haymitch was like “No, WE have to thank YOU” (I don’t know the exact original text cause I watched it in german) and how Peeta was like “Yay, I get to work the zipper”
I will go see a double feature (HG and CF) on sunday btw.
UPDATE: I just checked the Catching Fire tag and there were only positive reviews and I loved that and now I feel like a hater. I’m sorry, guys. Eventhough I wrote those things above I REALLY LOVED THE MOVIE. To pieces. And I think it’s great that there is a tag without hate reviews (so far). I hope it’ll stay that way. :)
